The car
This real low miles,1969 Shelby GT500 with the very desirable Top loader 4-speed manual transmission. The car is a real survivor with only 28.000, factory original miles according to its previous owner and the title that stated actual miles. And looking at this car, we also truly believe that's correct! The car is an original Candy apple red car and with black deluxe bucket seat interior. The car is equipped with its 428 Cobra Jet V8 and manual 4-speed transmission with lots of power.

The 69 and 70 model year had more special Shelby components than any Shelby ever produced before. In the late 60s aerodynamics became more and more important and Shelby, as usual, was ahead of its time and designed the all new 1969 model accordingly. This gave the body shape a much sleeker look, and it was unique and made these Shelby's stand-out more than ever before and very collectible indeed. A 69/70 Model Shelby GT500 was no longer a "changed over Mustang" with added Shelby components, but they became a unique kind of muscle cars with true Shelby pedigree.

The car is one of approximately only 50 cars ever produced in this color/option combination which makes it even more special and the Candy apple red color makes it really stand out. The combination of the 428 Cobra Jet V8 and the 4 speed manual transmission all hooked up to the ford 9 inch performance rear axle with traction lock unit and 3.50 rear end gears makes this car the car to have. As it's much faster and more fun to drive than an automatic version. This is a genuine muscle car with Shelby pedigree and race history. It just doesn't get any better than that if you want to own a piece of muscle car history.

PTTM performed some upgrades and improved many of its details, and we checked the complete car on all its details and components. The car did not need a complete new restoration as its general condition was still very good when we purchased it, and we wanted to leave the car as original as we could and not over restore it. However, we did feel the need to freshen up the car's drive line, and we have rebuilt the complete engine and transmission because although it is an extremely low mile car, we just felt it's safer and better to rebuild it all. We feel the 69/70 Shelby's are one of the unique and most well-designed Shelby's around on the markets.

The car also comes with an official Marti report to prove its origin, and also it's in the official Shelby registry. The car was sold new in May 1969 and was delivered to Marshall Motor Co in Ohio. The car was pampered throughout its entire life and had only 2-3 owners in the same Area. We also believe, as stated above, that today's extreme low mileage from new is original to the car.

It was restored partially at some point in its life, but the car is still very original shape, and it carries all of its important factory pieces. The black hood stripes were added to make the car more special, and they are correct for a Shelby GT500, although officially they were only used on the late 69/early 70 models. We can walk you around the car and show you all the important and original detail's and of course all the car's history and documentations.

It's just a gorgeous car that's not only in great overall condition and very detailed with the correct red-oxide sprayed underside and with its factory markings restored as well. The interior is still in very original condition as the car is a true low mile car and was never used much and that shows. It's one of the best-looking Shelby's around, and you won't find a better example, for sure. This all combined with its freshly restored engine and transmission makes this car one of the best to have, as its all completely as new. But besides that, these big block fastbacks Shelby's are fantastic cars to drive and own, especially the 4-speeds. So don't wait too long, if you ever wanted a true 69 GT500 in this original condition, then this might be your chance to own one or add it to your current collection. We tested the car for many miles and the fresh engine and transmission were all broken in, it's now completely bug and problem free and ready to be enjoyed for many, many more miles to come. The car wasn't built for only show, but to be driven and enjoyed. However, having that said, we are sure it's an award-winning car too.

Note: During the car's restoration process, we found all the original documents and build sheet of the car that you can get when you would buy the car at a dealer. That was one lucky find! You can find the documents in the pictures and the proof, of the car's original options and pedigree.
