IN OUR SHOWROOM NOW!

This 1969 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S 340 in amazing condition and completely original. A Genuine Mopar Muscle car, with ultra low original mileage!

This Barracuda is a real rare car, and it's also equipped with many factory options. The car apparently also only has driven 31000 miles from new and that’s visible throughout the cars original condition.
It's painted in the gorgeous looking factory correct code T7 Saddle bronze metallic, and it has the matching tan interior. A color combination that makes this car look like a true gentleman’s muscle car. With only approx. 725 ever produced real Formula S 340 automatic cars build in 1969, in combination with this car’s long option list and rare color combination, it might well be one of only a handful ever produced or maybe even a true 1 of 1 car. Really a rare find, especially in this original condition.

The car was restored around 10 years ago and was imported to the Netherlands around the same time and spend its live here in a dry stored garage, and it was well maintained throughout that period in our shop. The last owner only drove the car occasionally and only on dry summer days. He bought the car with around 21000 miles and the odometer now still only reads 31000 miles! The second generation Barracudas are unique cars and their design was way ahead of their time. There was a Coupe, a Convertible and the sporty fastback available. The were very light and very spacious car’s and when equipped with the right engine and transmission combinations the were a force to recon with!

The base model was equipped with a 225cui 6-cylinder engine, followed by the 318cui V8 engine with around 180hp. The performance models were the Barracuda Formula S cars that could be had either with a 383cui heavy big block, and then there was the real-hidden performance gem, the lightweight 340cui V8 with 275 factory HP rating. On top of that Chrysler, that was heavily involved in drag racing in those days, developed a batch of cars with their 440 Big blocks installed and even some 50 cars that were equipped with the famous 426 Hemi! In 1968.

These Hemi equipped cars were never streetcars, but only purpose build for super stock drag racing and were very successfully up until today on the drag strip. These cars were just unbeatable and won many world championships. Even Today the 68’ Plymouth Hemi Barracuda Super stock cars are a true spectacle to see on the strip. These cars run the ¼ mile in under 9 seconds, and even for today’s standards that’s still very fast for a full steel factory bodied car.

The 67-1969 Barracuda’s, when equipped with the right engine, one of the fastest cars on the streets. And when the were equipped with the Performance build 340cui V8 the also gave great performance on the track. The 340 Engine was a true performance designed engine and much lighter than it’s 383 brother. And although the 383cui V8 engine, on paper, had the upper hand with a 325hp factory rating the engine weight a ton. The 340Cui V8 however with its underrated factory 275hp (it was more close to 330hp according to many) was much lighter and made the Barracuda into a true muscle car. Its handling and all out performance was just much better.

The car we present to you here is one of those rare 340cui cars, and it's also a true Formula S package edition. The car is also equipped with Chryslers famous TF727 Automatic transmission, and a high performance axle package with 3.55 rear end gears with lim.slip.dif and rally suspension and steering. So it has all the wright ingredients to make this car fast and great in handling. It eats most Mustangs and Camaro’s for breakfast!

The drivetrain of this beauty is very original, and it was completely rebuilt professionally. From intake to exhaust manifolds, from the original performance X code 340 heads to air intake, from oil pan to radiation, all the parts are correct for these 1969 Barracuda. The transmission and rear end are also all factory original pieces! Very rare indeed.

The engine bay is also very correct and highly detailed, as is the rest of the car. It appears to have all original body panels, floor and structure and suspension and steering system in place, and it was never damaged or rusted. The body is super straight, and the paint has a great shine. This car is really remarkable and if we didn’t know it was restored, we would say it’s a survivor. It also drives and handles like a true low mile original car, and it takes you right back to 1969! The car also has all the correct and rare trim pieces and emblems and the 340 black sports stripe in place.

The complete interior is also in amazing condition all new seats, upholstery, carpets, headliner and door panels and a floor shifter with console! The dash is a factory rally dash with round gauges. All in all a very comfortable and stylish original interior, and it all looks really fresh and clean. Wow, what a great looking classic this is!

The underside and trunk area are also detailed and correct for the car and all looks in great condition and the complete underside was freshly under sprayed and protected in our shop some years ago. This car can really be driven and enjoyed. Its not just show, but also go.

All in all what we present to you here is a great and classic looking and very rare ultra low mile 1969 Barracuda in a great color combination and with an awesome stance and overall appearance. You really need to see this car to understand it’s quality and factory original rare condition. It's a perfect combination of an original Mopar muscle car, combined with the deluxe options any car fan would want on his car. The color combination and light and fresh looking interior with bucket seats and wood grain details just give that extra special feeling when you drive it.

The rear seat is an optional fold-away version and when its down, this car feels like a true 2 seater sports car with its large, well-designed rear window, and sporty, spacey feel. If you want a rare car and also a car that you can really drive around and enjoy, that really takes you back to the 60s, better than this must be the car for you. It also comes with all its Body tag’s and Vin tags and stamps all in place and also with its original fender tag still installed,  The car was decoded by Mopar guru Galen Govier, and it comes with its original owners manual and other documentations.

For its asking price you just can’t ever find a better and more original Formula S car, let alone one with its documented low original miles and all its options. And even if you would find one, keep in mind that this car is also restored which will also cost at least 75-100k alone in today's world. This car needs nothing and is ready to be enjoyed.

The car is also a great car for your collection, or just as an investment for your hard-earned cash. Prices of the real rare muscle cars will keep growing for many more years to come, as have the done so the last 30 years.
